Update
You do not need to watch for new versions: when one is out, the people who administer the plugin (Update settings permission) see a banner at the top of Revisionary, with what is new and the command to run. Hide lasts until the next version. A security update shows a red banner that cannot be hidden: install it soon.
Installed with npm: npm update @revisionary/strapi-plugin, then rebuild and restart. Installed from the zip:
- Replace the plugin folder with the new zip:
rm -rf src/plugins/revisionary
unzip revisionary-1.1.0.zip -d src/plugins/- Rebuild the admin and restart Strapi:
npm run build && npm run startAt the first start, Revisionary brings the data written by the previous version up to date, then records Plugin updated in the audit log, with the two versions. Your history, settings and permissions are kept.
Disable for a while
Setting enabled: false in config/plugins.ts stops recording, and the history is no longer shown. Nothing is deleted: the history tables stay in the database, and when you enable the plugin again, roles get their Revisionary permissions back.
Uninstall for good
Removing the plugin keeps its history in the database too. To delete it, run this once from the Strapi console, with the plugin still installed:
npx strapi console
> await strapi.plugin('revisionary').service('maintenance').uninstall({ confirm: 'DELETE ALL HISTORY' })Then remove the revisionary block from config/plugins.ts and the src/plugins/revisionary folder, and start Strapi: it deletes the history tables.
