Who can do what
Five permissions appear under Settings → Roles → Plugins → Revisionary in Strapi:
| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| Read | See the version history, reviews and the audit log |
| Compare | Compare any two versions |
| Restore | Put fields back from a version |
| Approve reviews | Approve versions and accept suggestions |
| Update settings | Change the Revisionary settings |
The history never shows more than the Content Manager does. Revisionary applies the Content Manager permissions of each entry:
- Locales: a role limited to French sees, compares and restores French versions only.
- Conditions such as Is creator: a role limited to its own entries cannot see the history of others. In the trash, it finds the entries it created.
- Fields: a field a role cannot read is hidden from versions, differences and search. When it is the entry title, the title is hidden everywhere too. Nobody can restore a field they are not allowed to edit.
The audit log follows the same rules, and its counters only count the content types the role can read. IP addresses and plugin-wide events (settings, licence) are only shown to people who can update the settings. The restore options in Settings → Permissions add rules for the built-in Editor and Author roles.
